I met Gloria about three years ago through Christian Paper Crafters where we were both challenge hostesses. Gloria loves the Lord, has amazing talent and has served on teams for some of the leading names in paper crafting, yet she remains humble and gracious (just ask her! ;-) ) Did I mention she has a wonderful sense of humor? An engineer by training, she is also a homeschool mom about to work herself out of job. Two of her three are off to college, and the youngest isn't far behind. (She also loves cats, but don't tell her I told you that!)
The many long hours of design team work took a physical toll and the doctor ordered Gloria to STOP in order to mitigate the damage to her back. . .no more eight plus hours a day of Design Team (DT) work. So she did. . .mostly. She started cleaning out her craft studio (which is next to her school marm's desk) and came to the quick realization that she is . . . a HOARDER! Gasp! So she decided to start her own challenge blog, Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog, encouraging others to dig into their stashes (and we all have plenty of them) and utilize their diverse talents. And . . she put out a call for a DT to help out.
After being blessed to serve on the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Team for two years, I stepped down at the end of 2013 planning to just enter a few challenges and spend some time looking at the beautiful work of others. And then I saw it: Gloria put out a call for her first ever DT and the first requirement was that you had to be a craft supply hoarder. Uh oh. . .in went the application. . .and last week I got an email that was a bit like Charlie opening up the Wonka bar and seeing the shimmer of gold! (Fans of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/Willy Wonka will know what I mean!) Congratulations to the rest of the team! Looking forward to working with you!
So, the first and third Monday of each month we will post a challenge for you. It could be a sketch challenge, a color challenge, a mood-board challenge, a theme challenge, a manufacturer challenge, you name it. We want you to USE YOUR HOARDED paper, tools, adhesives, and do-dads! For complete details, please click here.
