Godliness with contentment. . .

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
 1 Timothy 6:17

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (Verses 18 and 19)

Earlier in this chapter of the book of 1 Timothy, where Paul instructs, encourages, exhorts and commissions this young man of God, we read, "But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world."

The book of 1 Timothy isn't a lengthy book, but it is packed solid with godly instruction; wise counsel that we would all do well to heed. May the Lord give us grace in living our lives in a way that would honor Him! Godliness with contentment is great gain!

Project Details

After reading through the sixth chapter of 1 Timothy, it seemed fitting to pair the bird and border corner stamps with this scripture. That's because most birds seem to always be content as they sing and go about the tasks for which they were created. I say most because the magpies and blue jays around our place always seem to be squawking about something!
