We celebrate not the birth of a baby

. . .But the incarnation of God! Emmanuel: God with us!

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2: 8-11

Our King and Judge

He reigns! While we celebrate the first coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and His birth, we must remember that though He became as us, He has always been and will always be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Even now, He is ruling and reigning bringing all things into subjection until that grand and glorious day when He comes again! And this time, it will not be as meek and lowly infant offering salvation to all who will repent and believe, but as the righteous judge.  Are you ready to meet Him?
Thou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Splendor
(Click the title for a beautiful rendition of this hymn)
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor,
All for love’s sake becamest poor;
Thrones for a manger didst surrender,
Sapphire-paved courts for stable floor.
Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor,
All for love’s sake becamest poor.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love’s sake becamest man;
Stooping so low, but sinners raising
Heavenward by thine eternal plan.
Thou who art God beyond all praising,
All for love’s sake becamest man.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Saviour and King, we worship thee.
Emmanuel, within us dwelling,
Make us what thou wouldst have us be.
Thou who art love beyond all telling,
Saviour and King, we worship thee.

Project Details

This project was for a tea at our church. As hostess for one of the tables (a cowboy themed table of course!), I wrapped up the ornaments that were being given in little packages and used Our Daily Bread Designs Stamps to decorate the inside card and outside tag.

As a closing note, this is my last project as a member of the ODBD Challenge Team.  I have been so blessed to serve for two years and will so miss the daily chats with my "sister sticks" and our "boss lady" Kelley. I am most thankful for all of the behind the scenes encouragement as well as the encouragement from our faithful ODBD supporters and sisters in Christ.  It has been a joy to serve and I look forward to seeing and encouraging the new Challenge Team members! Blessings!

  2. Oh, Jan Marie! First of all, you have been such an inspiration not only through your beautiful cards and creations, but through your gift of encouragement with your words of hope and love through Christ! We all will miss you in our behind-the-scenes times of encouragement and fun, but we know that you will continue to shine His light brightly wherever you are and whatever you do. This is one fabulous project, and I am certain this was a big hit at the tea! I just love tea parties, and this theme is a delight! One of the biggest attractions to ODBD for me is their wonderful Scripture stamps, and you have used them well in this project and in so many of your work! I love you, precious sister, and I'll be visiting you here and looking forward to seeing your posts in the future. And one day…we will meet again..forever, precious and dear friend…for His glory! Merry CHRISTmas! Love, Cheryl
