Steadfast love. . .

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning; great is Your Faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

CHACB Challenge #11: Tag! You're It!

Gloria Designs ChallengeThe current challenge at Craft Hoarders Anonymous is: Tag! You're It!!

Use a tag on your project. Create a handmade gift tag. Create a tag mini album. Add tags to your scrapbook layout or your card. You may use some hoarded tag-shaped packaging or you may cut tags from scrap paper using a die cut template. Maybe you hoard shipping tags of all sizes. As long as your project contains some sort of tag, you will meet the requirements to play along!

And one talented participant will receive a prize for their work from our fabulous sponsors: Spectrum Noir and Crafter's Companion

Crafter’s Companion produces and offers a full range of tools and products to create cards and other paper craft projects.

Spectrum Noir is the revolutionary coloring system brought to you by Crafter's Companion. The range combines affordability with versatility across a vast color spectrum, deigned specifically for the crafting market.

You have until Sunday, July 20 at midnight PDT to prepare, submit and link up your project to the CHAC Blog

Of Birds and Hope

"Tag it!" said our Hoarder-in-Charge, Gloria. . .so what started out as one tag, turned into a project with a total of five tags. This is more of a placard card, than a traditional card, and it is designed to be displayed on an easel.

And, when displayed this way it contains a secret that only the recipient knows: tucked away behind the main tag is another tag, slipped into a pocket. The second tag and the the pocket both contain a special message of encouragement.

However, since the most encouragement comes from God's precious Word, it graces the front of this piece serving as a reminder that our Lord is good, loving, faithful, eternal, merciful and sovereign, and sustains the universe by the word of His power (as we are told in Hebrews 1:3).

We are encouraged because we know that all of the troubles and toils in this present age are not intended for the harm of those who are trusting in Christ, but for our eternal good and His glory. . .we know He is working all things together toward a glorious end and that all of creation is being restored! What a great hope!!

That is also why I incorporated the birds, which remind me of doves. And. . .doves remind me of Noah and the promises of God and they remind me of our Savior, who is the fulfillment of every promise!

Project Description

This project consists of a backing, a pocket, made by modifying a handcrafted envelope, and a total of five tags. Two of the tags are attached front to back, with one inserted into the envelope hiding the sentiments below.
The third tag is on the back of the card. The fourth and fifth are on the box that was crafted to package the placard. See below for pictures.

It didn't start out to be so complicated!

Do Not Grow Weary. . .

Sometimes, many times, it is easy to grow discouraged and weary as we look around and see what appears to be the darkness of evil and wickedness closing in, yet we must remember the promises of the Lord and that He is, even now, making all things right. He promised that His kingdom will spread from a tiny seed to a magnificent tree covering the entire earth (to paraphrase).

We must press on in the strength He provides doing the good works He has called us to do, with our eyes fixed upon Him and our eternal home.. . .remembering that He who began a good work in you, WILL carry it forward to the day of completion. (If you want to learn more about God and his promises, please click on the Good News link above.)

Project Description

For this challenge, I used a Stencil Girl's Chevron Doily Mask stencil on a beautiful WorldWin Papers shimmery wheat card stock using Ranger Distress Inks in Cotton Candy,, Tumbled Glass and Faded Lipstick. Atop the stenciled doily, I've placed some Prima swirls, a Wilton pastry doily, a stamped banner and then accented with some FOLDED fans. The fans are crafted with papers from World Win (velum and pool). I then used flowers from 7 Gypsies and finished off with a vintage button from my collection (thanks to my mom and grandmothers!)

Paper: WorldWin Papers Pool, Red Apple, Vellum.
Ink:
Brown, Ranger Distress Cotton Candy, Worn Lipstick, Tumbled Glass.
Accessories: Prima gems and swirls, 7 Gypsies flowers, Wilton pastry doily.

Refreshing presence. . . .

Times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord. . .
Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time. Acts 3:19-21

CHACB Challenge #8: Metal and/or Glass
