Sing of the Lord's great love!

I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever! Psalm 39:1
“Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, “ Ephesians 5:19
This little songbird will sing out her praises all day to the Lord without reservation and with such joy and sweetness. I will sing out loudly only in the safety of my car or when our congregation is lifting their collectively voices in praise. I am so thankful that the song that is most sweet to the Lord is not necessarily that which sounds the best to our ears, but that which comes from our heart as we praise and worship Him in spirit and in truth! May He give us hearts that rejoice through the trials and troubles of this life as we look to the One who can, will and (if you are trusting in Him) HAS delivered us from the guilt of your sins and, therefore, from death and hell. Who is that One? The Lord Jesus Christ. He is the one who said, "No man has greater love than this, that he lay down his life for his brother, " and then went on to do just that; and not just for one, but for all who will repent and believe!

Godliness with contentment. . .

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy.
 1 Timothy 6:17

They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. (Verses 18 and 19)

Earlier in this chapter of the book of 1 Timothy, where Paul instructs, encourages, exhorts and commissions this young man of God, we read, "But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world."

The book of 1 Timothy isn't a lengthy book, but it is packed solid with godly instruction; wise counsel that we would all do well to heed. May the Lord give us grace in living our lives in a way that would honor Him! Godliness with contentment is great gain!

Project Details

After reading through the sixth chapter of 1 Timothy, it seemed fitting to pair the bird and border corner stamps with this scripture. That's because most birds seem to always be content as they sing and go about the tasks for which they were created. I say most because the magpies and blue jays around our place always seem to be squawking about something!
