Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
Whenever this passage comes to mind, in my little head all of the "whatevers" are replaced with "whoever." As in, whoever is noble, pure, lovely admirable, commendable, excellent, worthy of praise. . .and there is only One that I can think of who meets these qualitifications: our Lord! What a comfort that is and what a refreshment to my soul knowing that Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and these attributes contained in the Philippians passage are His in infinite measure (is that an oxymoron!?!) and eternally! How blessed are those who take refuge in Him. . .all the pretty, glittery things of the world grow dim in the presence of the Light of the World!
